The Banking Operations Specialist supports the essential daily processes that keep banking operations running smoothly. This role handles a wide range of responsibilities that require accuracy, consistency, and a strong understanding of operational guidelines. It’s a good fit for someone who enjoys detailed work, values reliability, and takes pride in providing dependable support to both internal teams and customers.
Responsibilities include support for cash management services, online and mobile banking, wire processing, deposit account maintenance, reconciliations, legal processing, and general operational troubleshooting. The work blends routine production tasks with opportunities to solve more complex issues, offering steady structure with meaningful variety.
High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of recent experience in bank operations, retail banking, clerical accounting, or financial services.
Working knowledge of banking regulations (Reg E, NACHA, FFIEC) or the ability to learn quickly.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing and processing documents, data, and transactions.
Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a production-driven environment.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to learn new systems and technology.
Steady, composed approach when handling challenging or time-sensitive situations.
Comfortable working independently as well as within a team.
Ability to work fully on-site, Monday through Friday.
Coursework or certification in accounting or a related field.
Experience with ACH, wire transfers, Remote Deposit Capture, cash management services, or online/mobile banking support.
Background handling check adjustments, returns, and stop payments.
Experience with IRAs, HSAs, and legal processing such as garnishments or levies.
Familiarity with account and general ledger reconciliations.
Experience updating or improving operational procedures.
Exposure to audits, exams, or project-based operational work.
