At Walden Pet Services, w e treat pets like family! We are growing and are excited to offer dog walking and pet sitting services in the Concord, MA area.

Working at Walden Pet Services is a great fit for people seeking a rewarding, independent, active, outdoor position working hands-on with animals.

The position:  

• We are in the peace-of-mind business. We provide reliable care for pet parents who are busy working or traveling.
• Our dog walking services are performed in neighborhoods and on local trails.
• We visit clients’ homes to care for their pets. This could include walking dogs, caring for cats, and various household tasks (watering plants and collecting mail).
• As a pet care provider with Walden Pet, you will drive to these appointments, check in and check out using our mobile app, and write informative updates with pictures to let clients know how their pets and homes are doing. 
• Our busiest period is 9am to 3pm during the weekday: additional earning opportunities evenings, weekends, and holidays. Our operating hours are from 7am to 9pm.
• We have staff working shorter schedules (10-20 hours weekly) and larger schedules (20 or more hours weekly). This is a flexible position, but we do appreciate consistent week-to-week availability. 
• Our next walker will work in Concord, but additional earning opportunities will be in Carlisle, Lincoln, Maynard, and Acton, MA.   

Compensation:

$18 - $30 / hour

$200 - $800 / week

• Mileage reimbursement and cell phone stipend

The responsibilities:

• Create a safe and positive walking environment for our client's dogs. 
• You may be asked to provide transport for the client's dogs. This will increase your potential earnings. We can provide car seat covers to protect your interior.
• Follow the client-provided care instructions, including training preferences.
• Provide detailed and attentive care for our client's cats.
• Give our clients first-class customer service with a personal touch.
• Contribute to the team effort by working as a team player.
• Practice time management to ensure on-time arrivals for all assigned visits.

The ideal candidate:

• An honest, patient, and enthusiastic candidate who can provide our client's dogs and cats with the highest quality visits possible.
• The candidate should have a strong understanding of safety and time management.
• Previous professional or volunteer experience with animals is preferred, but a positive attitude and a desire to learn are just as important.
• The candidate should enjoy an active work environment, walking independently and working outdoors regardless of weather conditions.
• Special consideration for candidates with evening, weekend, and holiday availability.

• Many of our staff were previously dog walkers with on-demand services, doggy daycare staff, dog groomers, or volunteers at a local shelter.
• The candidate should have an innate desire to care for animals while ensuring their safety.
