About the Role
The Company is in search of an Executive Director to spearhead the tourism marketing strategy for a premier outdoor recreation destination. The successful candidate will be responsible for shaping visitor experiences, driving economic growth through innovative marketing, and fostering strategic partnerships. This executive role involves overseeing a dynamic team, working with advisory boards, and managing a comprehensive tourism program that balances community needs with sustainable growth. Key responsibilities include developing and executing tourism marketing strategies, budget oversight, and representing the organization at various industry and community events. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should hold a Master's degree in a relevant field and have a minimum of 6 years' of destination marketing experience, with at least 2 years' in a supervisory or management role. A strong knowledge of the outdoor recreation industry, hospitality management, and tourism economics is essential. The role also requires the ability to manage grants and contracts, prepare and implement tourism elements of regional planning, and ensure the organization's presence at industry conventions and board meetings. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a passion for outdoor recreation and a proven track record in the tourism marketing sector.
