Job Summary and Qualifications

As a PACU Nurse in our ambulatory surgery center, you will play a vital role in providing safe and effective postoperative care until patients are ready to be discharged. We are seeking compassionate nurses who embody the values of our organization—caring for our patients like family.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure patient care areas are prepared with necessary equipment and supplies.
• Demonstrate proper airway management techniques.
• Monitor patients' vital signs, temperature, and cardiac function in accordance with policy.
• Exhibit proper techniques for IV catheter insertion, maintenance, and removal.
• Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients using an approved scoring system in line with HCA guidelines.
• Inspect dressings and operative sites, reporting any abnormalities to the surgical team.
• Create a safe and comforting environment for patients and their families.
• Verify that patients meet discharge criteria before they leave the facility.

Qualifications Needed:

• Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.
• A minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience, preferably in PACU, ICU, or surgical settings.
• Active RN license as required by the state of employment.
• BCLS Certification required upon employment (online certification not accepted).
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
• PALS certification, if required, within 30 days of hire.
