Founder and President of Sparling Construction Co., Inc. Mr. Sparling is in charge of all business operations associated with the company. With over 40 years of experience in the industry he is knowledgeable in estimating, project management, contract negotiation, and all aspects of construction activities in the field. He oversees all office staff, project estimating, and financial planning for our firm. He is also involved with negotiating projects with new and repeat clients.
Patricia has been with Sparling Construction for over 25 years. Mrs. Hotchkiss is a licensed CPA and is responsible for all accounting associated with the company. Patricia works with owners and project managers for budgeting, billings, purchase orders, obtaining the proper licenses and permits for each project, and complying with all state and federal payroll regulations.
Thirty five years experience managing up to 30+ personnel with all aspects of job-site construction. Responsible for working with owners, project managers, developers, crews, and municipal inspectors in all facets of the construction process. Directly responsible for quality assurance throughout the life of the project.
Vice President of Sparling Construction Co., Inc. Mr. Wylie is in charge of all field operations associated with the company. With over 40 years of experience in the industry he is very knowledgeable in project management, contract negotiation, and logistics of building several different types of projects. Mr. Wylie also leads our safety team in insuring that all of our job sites are abiding by OSHA and MSHA standards. He manages projects in value from $20K through $6M in excavation, underground utilities, sewer lift stations, well pumps and buildings, water booster stations, drainage structures, and drainage pipe. Mr. Wylie also corresponds with engineers and owners for project progress, change order processes, and project ramp-up and closeout.
Administrative Assistant/ Project Coordinator
Vivian has been with the firm for 11 years and is responsible for working with project managers and engineers regarding project correspondence (submittals, purchase orders, contracts, e-mails, and RFI’s). Vivian assists our Project Manager with anything needed on the project. She is also responsible for payroll and HR paperwork.
Harold Lucero is Sparling Construction Company’s asphalt superintendent. Mr. Lucero has a 30 year career in paving, earthwork, concrete, and overseeing all phases of construction and infrastructure. Experience includes managing crews in asphalt, heavy construction improvements, and a variety of other construction and demolition projects. Backed by strong credentials and a proven history of on-time, on budget, and quality project completions.
Project Manager / Estimator
Project Manager/Estimator with over 10 years of experience in the construction industry. Marcus is responsible for project start up, ensuring that SWPPP, permits, BMPS, and that the project is abiding by the specifications/contract documents, and state and federal requirements. Marcus is also responsible for scheduling, managing subcontractors, preparing monthly billing requests, and providing quality control that meets or exceeds our owners and engineers expectations.
Marcus is responsible for estimating projects of all sizes. He uses Agtek and Hard Dollar to compose the best value bid for our clients.
Sam Flores, project foremen for Sparling Construction Co., Inc., has been involved in heavy construction for over 25 years. Sam is our earthwork foreman and has been with Sparling Construction for over 15 years. Sam is highly experienced in leading our earthwork crews on residential, commercial, solar facilities, and renewable wind projects. He work’s closely with our project managers to ensure that all job sites are safe, project goals are met, and projects are built per plans and specifications.
Equipment Manager/ Shop Foremen
Gerald Sanchez has been Sparling Construction Company’s shop foremen for over 20 years. Gerald is responsible for maintaining our fleet of equipment to OSHA safety standards. He is also responsible for ensuring all equipment is operational and is ready for mobilization for new and existing projects. Gerald coordinates equipment deliveries with management and field supervisors to ensure there is limited down time on all projects.
