Job Description: Are you a skilled maintenance professional looking for a rewarding opportunity? We are currently seeking a dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team in Detroit, Michigan. As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the overall functionality and appearance of our hotel, including guest rooms, meeting spaces, restaurant, and common areas. You'll also be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and addressing any repair needs promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities: - Provide excellent customer service by greeting guests in a friendly manner and addressing their needs promptly
- Perform general maintenance tasks such as minor painting, plumbing, electrical wiring, HVAC functions, and other related activities using hand tools
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections to identify and address any issues with drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and other preventive actions
- Notify management of any major repairs or additions required for lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment
- Assist in the repair of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, kitchen, and laundry equipment
- Respond to guest service requests according to company policy and maintain accurate records of completed tasks
- Ensure telephone equipment is functional and report any repairs or replacements needed
- Monitor equipment and utility meter readings on a daily basis and perform maintenance or repairs as necessary
- Acquire knowledge of emergency procedures and respond effectively in critical situations
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Requirements: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Flexibility to work on-call, mornings, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Previous maintenance experience, with a focus on painting, plumbing, and electrical wiring preferred
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot operational errors, and make effective repair decisions
- Attention to detail, speed, and accuracy while maintaining courtesy and cooperativeness
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with both internal and external customers
- Basic arithmetic skills for measurements and computing material amounts
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software for data entry and information processing
- Knowledge of machines, tools, designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Ability to monitor and assess problems based on information from materials, events, or the environment
